Star India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah made the day of one of his fans as he appreciated her for a long post written on his T20 World Cup final spell. Notably, Bumrah changed the course of the game in his last two overs of the big final after India were staring down the barrel as South Africa required 30 off the last 30 balls.
However, the speedster brought the pressure back on the opposition giving away just six runs in his last two overs and also dismissed Marco Jansen for 2 (4). As a result, the pressure was back on South Africa who eventually lost the game by seven runs and India clinched their second T20 World Cup title.
Having witnessed Bumrah’s spell at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, a fan narrated the events of fast bowlers’ last two overs and how it brought a change in the emotions of the entire stadium. The post managed to grab the attention of the India star who thanked the fan for penning
“Thank you so much for your kind words ,really well written. That day will will always remain special in my heart,” wrote Bumrah on his X account.
Notably, Bumrah became just the second Indian to win the coveted award after Virat Kohli who won it twice in back-to-back editions of 2014 and 2016. The 30-year-old finished as the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 15 wickets to his name from eight innings at an average of 8.46 and an economy of 4.17.
